Yes ,overnight and express trains can be booked on line . I followed the instructions on seat "61" and made reservations for the daytime express ,Cairo / Luxor without any problems . For this train i had to board at the main Cairo Station but i have a recollection that the overnight sleeper starts at Giza . The most up to date Information appears to be on the "seat 61 website " Hope this helps .

For the sleepers, the company's website shows some of the trains departing from Cairo and others from Giza. I don't know whether it's up to date - keeping websites up to date is rarely a high priority in this part of the world.
