Accommodation Good Friday Cordoba, Priego de Cordoba, Alcala la Real, Monte

Hi guys,

I am pannicking with not being able to find accommodation in the above areas, for the night of the friday of easter week-end - I seem to have realised too late that I need to get booking for then: I am looking at spending up to 60 Euro's for a double for the night.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

PS Montefrio too etc

I warned you in one of your other threads, that the week before easter is Semana Santa and that in this period spanish schools have holidays and that in Andalucia they have their yearly procesions. I fear you have to change your trip and get out of Andalucia or at least do not go to cities/towns with procesions on good friday. The other possibility is to pay the (much) higher price than you planned to pay.

Thanks Liberat, I'd never even heard of Semana Santa before I decided to book an extended easter some 2 months ago, am learning, much to my chagrin (?!). I just need to book Good Fri and during that time was travelling north as I have booked the Sat and Sun in Baeza and Cazorla respectively. I expected to spend the day of that night, if you get what I mean, taking in that area,i.e. seeing Priego de Cordoba, Alcala la Real, and shooting into Cordoba to see the Mezquito for a couple of hours. If you can think of any place that is not affected by these Good Fri processions, I would be much appreciative of any suggestions - then for that 1 day we can sleep, it seems, away from these towns (but near-ish them, if you get my meaning!) and then drive to them to see them and sightsee in them and have lunch on the way.

Thanks again.

Thursday and friday are the most important days of Semana Santa. Just your bad luck.

Does anyone know what Charilla is like near Alcala La Real?

Just above your budget is Casa Santa Maria in Alcaudete. I know it and it's good.
Also Apartamentos Turísticos los Llanos near Luque which is just under your budget.

Hotel Rural La Paloma, in Villanueva de Tapia? I´m just using google a bit XDD

Charrilla is about 10km from Alcala la Real, just there

Still, keep calm! You´ll be fine and on holiday, and you´ll have the unique chance to observe the Holy Week in Andalucia, must be pretty impressive!

;)

I think Villaneuva de Tapia seems too far. I must admit I can't find it on the map, though.

Use http://www.viamichelin.com/web/Maps, put in the name and you see, where it is.

Thank you so much everyone, I have booked Hospederia la Era in Almedinilla, on the road between Alcala la Real and Priego de Cordoba, both of which towns I am looking forward to taking in: have booked for 2 nights, 135 Euro for 2 nights incl breakfast and free parking, it looks nice. We shall also hopefully be able to spend half a day in Cordoba, and then maybe even have a look in at Granada if the fancy takes us - have seen the Alhambra many years ago.

Thanks again for all the help.
