selling my bike in Leh, or finding a bike box

How easy would it be to sell my bike in Leh in late July for a reasonable price? It's a Salsa Fargo (700c wheels, disk brakes). Last time I took it there, a lot of locals asked to buy it, but I think they had no idea of the actual cost of this sort of bike. The local outfitters were renting pretty bottom-of-the-line MTB with 26 wheels.

Alternatively, how easy is it to find a sturdy bike box to pack it up?

I just found a bike box in Delhi really easily - don't know if that helps you! In Lajpat Nagar, at Firefox bikes. I also have a salsa fargo - awesome touring bike huh??
Jealous of your Leh trip... too much snow and didn't want to wait around any longer!

We sold two bicycles in Leh after cycling from Manali through Zanskar two summers ago. We went from tour operator to tour operator until we found someone who wanted higher end bikes. That being said, we were selling them for $400USD with all our spare parts and some tools. We could tell the tour operators thought it was alot of money but it was a great deal for them. It only took us a day or two of asking around.
