Ocker Dialect Help Needed

G'day!

I need help finding an apt/contemporary term for tightwad in the Ocker dialect-here in Canada we also use cheapskate

Hi, interesting question! We (ockers) would probably say tightarse, or just tight. Maybe something like stingy bastard. If a person tries to get things for free instead of buying them him/herself, or otherwise lives off others, then he/she is a scab or a bludger. All fairly insulting terms. Hope this helps.

I would think simply tight, or tight-arse ... tightwad and cheapskate are not Australian vernacular to anywhere the same extent, but you do hear them. Why do you ask?
