Accommodation outside cities in the Balkans? Two of us are thinking of cycling for two weeks end of April to beginning May from the south of Albania through Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro to Dubrovnik.
We don't want to carry camping equipment but I'm unsure whether this is risky because I'm not sure we'll always be able to find accommodation as we go. Larger towns and cities yes, but what about smaller towns or villages? Are there likely to be pensions or B&B or rooms to rent or some sort of equivalent?
Can anyone advise?

1It is a bit of a risk. The smallest villages will be a particular challenge. I would say that most cities of any size (say, 5,000+) will have at least some kind of small hotel or guesthouse. On the smaller end, there may be some private rooms that are for rent, that are known locally through word of mouth. For the smaller villages, it will be asking around and maybe paying someone to crash on their couch.
Frankly, I think if you are a visitor on a bike in a small town, and you are friendly and ask around for lodging, someone will surface who will help you out with something. You'll be an oddity, and in my experience the residents of small towns want to do everything they can to be welcoming to strangers coming to their hometown.
