4 weeks in Indonesia - what do you think?

Hey guys,

first of all, this is my first post, I hope to get some helpful replies and please excuse my greenness in advance.

We plan to start an Indonesia trip between mid of september and mid of october for 4 weeks and wanna start in Jakarta. Then we plan to visit Yogya, Lombok, The Gilis, Flores and Bali for almost three weeks.

Afterwards we wanna travel to the Togeans for another week. What do you think is the best way to get there, fly from Bali to Gorontalo and take the overnight ferry to the Togeans? Or is it better to fly to Palu, take the minibus to Ampana and take the ferry to the Togeans? Or is there even a better and faster option? And what do you think, how much time should we plan for the transfer to the Togeans?

Thank you in advance for your replies and tips.

Cheers Flo

Hey Flo,

How about visiting Bandung before you go to Yogyakarta? Many interesting places in Bandung. You can go to Mt. Tangkuban Perahu looking into an active crater is always fascinating. Kawah putih is another beautiful place to visit in south Bandung, you can take picture with a white crater behind you as a background. Gedung sate is another must visit place , it is a mascot building in Bandung. Beside the scenery you could try many traditional food such as fresh vegetables with peanut sauce named 'karedok', deep fried tofu with peanut and soy sauce named 'batagor' its so delicious. Or you could try to watch a traditional music instrument at Saung Angklung Udjo which is made from bamboo or you can join with a traditional dancer.

Lets enjoy the city!
