Suggestions for an Easter break in the UK?

I'm thinking of taking a short break somewhere in the UK over Easter and am looking for some inspiration. We will be travelling by public transport from Cambridge so somewhere within around 3 hours travel time from there would be great. I have previously travelled quite a bit around the North of England when I was living in Yorkshire but haven't senn much of Southern England (except London and Brighton,Canterbury, Oxford, Bath and Bristol). Anywhere in particular you would recommend? We like historic cities/towns/villages as well as walking in the countryside and also have an interest in photography.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Winchester & New Forest gives you a historic city and countryside. But quickest rail journey Cambridge to Winchester is just over 3 hours.

Ely, Norwich, King's Lynn, Wymondham for the abbey, Bury St Edmonds, Ipswich, anywhere in the Broads, Stamford.
All are quite easily accessible by train from Cambridge.
