Just outside the gates of the airport there are lots of places, I stayed at the Casa Linda Inn, quiet, 1/2 block off the airport road which is 10 minutes away, good resto next door and walking distance to downtown. Saw a few places nearby offering trips to UG river. Paid 1000p/nite for AC room in Nov/11.

Puerto Princesa isnt that big and loads of places to stay. Stayed at Duchesse Pension which is right in the middle of town, simple, cheap place, then found great place overlooking the bay but forget its name. Loads of places to stay and easy to get around by walking or tricycle..

If you don't mind splurging to have the time of your life, you can go straight to Daluyon Resort, which is near the Underground River. You are pretty much assured that you can get into the Underground River if you spend the night in Daluyon. You should book beforehand as this is far away and you want to make sure there are available rooms. That said, there are beautiful cottages facing the sea; and the food in the restaurant is spectacular. It's not cheap; it's a splurge, but well worth it.
