Trans-Siberian in April
Hi there - it's been aaaaages since i used this forum!I am planning to get pregnant in the next few months and would really love to do the TransSiberain from Moscow to Vladivstok (?sp) beforehand! But i really want to see Siberia when it's covered in snow and wintery like in the movie Transsiberian.
I would be able to do it in the last 2 weeks of April but will all the snow have melted or be melting at that point?? I would also contemplate doing it while pregnant but i am a bit nervous about that.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks

Yes, it unlikely they'll be snow still in the second half of April, here now in March in the Urals there's no shortage of snow and it's still cold enough....-30 on Wednesday and today should be around -20.I can't think of any major concerns for pregnant women, but as goes for everyone else don't drink the tap water.

Here in the Western Siberian (Novosibirsk) there is still a lot of snow now, as this winter was the snow-richst within the last 100 years, butn by the end of April it will definitely have melted, except for, maybe, deep in the forest, whih you won't see from the train. To see Siberia covered in snow you have to come in winter or at least no later than the middle of March.ADVERTISEMENT
