Border between Turkey and Tbilisi

Hello guys,
I know there is a cross point between Batumi and Hopa!, however we are going to Tbilisi and I wonder if there is any cross border between turkey and Tbilisi? can we cross it with our car coming from Turkey? and is it open 24 hrs?

Yes there is one at Posof in the north of Ardahan Province. This will be quicker for Tblisi than Sarp.Always open AFAIK.

They didn't say it was, they just wanted to know if there was a more convenient border crossing point than Sarp to go to Tblisi....which there is,Posof.Sarp is better for Batumi.

thanks for the reply nopasaran, however we will be driving with Iraqi car and the plate numbers are written in arabic alphabets which i assume the georgian customs won't be able to read! this happened to one of our friends at Sarp and there was an office who would give you a plate with your number in english numerics, do you think we can find an office or shop like that that can translate our plate number into english numerics? or we can enter with arabic alaphabets! thanks

I am not sure about it. Sarpi is more frequently transited and there are more services available. I have never seen car only with Arabic alphabet in Georgia,so I assume that you will need to translate it. There are quite a few Iranian cars, and they have Latin alphabet letters on car plates, s far as I remember.
