Casco Viejo to Allbrook; Flight to David

I arrive in Panama City on 3/22 and will fly to David at 10 am on 3/23. Is it necessary to get a hotel near Allbrook in order to make the flight on time? How long would it take to get to Allbrook from Casco Viejo? What would I expect to pay for a taxi? Is booking a ticket on the airpanama website the best way to purchase a ticket to David or is it better to wait until I arrive in Panama to get the ticket from a local travel agent? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I stayed at Mamallena hostel and shared a taxi to the airport. it was about $7. would have been 20, otherwise. this was a few years ago, so dont put me down.

We stayed in El Congrejo, not in Casco Viejo, but Albrook is not very far, not more than half an hour if the traffic is not too bad. It cost $12 in a taxi from El Congrejo to Albrook in December. You don't necessarily need to stay near Albrook.

The Air Panama website is not easy to use. We finally ended up calling them to book the flight. Sometimes the flights sell out. Our flight back from David was not full, but I would still try to book ahead.
