Shipping bike boxes from Perpignan France to Girona Spain

Hi-does anyone know how a couple of cyclists could get their bike boxes between Perpignan and Girona? We are doing a trans-Pyrenees bike trip in June and will have our boxes dropped in Perpignan. We're likely going to ride to, and around Girona, but need to get our bike boxes there.
Does any one know how this might work? We thought it should be viable, as both the Pyrenees and the Girona area are popular with road cyclists like us...thanks in advance! Cross-posted on the Cycing site.

There's something it isn't clear for me. Are you going to be in Perpignan when your bike boxes arrive?
BTW, Can't you get your bikes dropped in Girona instead of Perpignan?

Anillos - no, the van driver of our tour is going as far as Perpignan and yes, we will be there when they arrive. We're on our own after that.

I'm not sure if you could carry them by train (i.e.: if they meet the maximum size allowed for baggage) but you could take a look about it. Bikes themselves wouldn't be a problem as are accepted in most trains (although, AFAIK, not in the direct train from Perpignan to Girona though) but there are maximum sizes (and weights) for luggage (all your luggage, not only the bike boxes) and you should verify if overall, all your baggage (i.e.: your bike boxes plus whatever other luggage you carry) is within the limits. Take a look at the webs of the SNCF (for the leg from Perpignan to Portbou) and RENFE (for the leg from Portbou to Girona) for more info (schedules, fares, baggages allowed...).
