High Tatras Early April

My husband and I are traveling to Budapest in late March- early April for about 10 days. We would also like to go to the High Tatras but aren't sure if it will be possible to hike because of snow. Does any one have any suggestions or ideas about what we can do in the High Tatras at this time?

Early April means full winter conditions high up in the mountains, so don't expect to be able to climb high passes or summits without proper winter gear (ice axe, crampons) and experience. The walks in the valleys and towards the mountain huts will be accessible though and meadows will be covered with crocuses, which makes for a beautiful scenery.
