The new London Dungeon, anyone going?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of heading to the new London Dungeon as they've just moved to County Hall, next to the London Eye.

Has anyone already been? Can you share your experiences with me?

Thanks,

Chris

Wouldn't waste my time. I went to the original London Dungeon in Tooley St for the first time back in 1986 and it was brilliant - a real museum dedicated to the history of torture. Absolutely fascinating. Next time I went (in early 90s) it was still interesting, but heading more towards freak show than museum. Nowadays it's just like a very high-tech fright-fest with only a vague reference to historical accuracy.

If you want to get the s*#t scared out of you - for sure, go. Otherwise, don't waste your money.

It will be the same as the old dungeon- all the Dungeons are very similar.

It makes sense that they move to County Hall, since the owner, Merlin Entertainments, already have a large number of attractions at or near County Hall.

The Dungeons get a lot of bad press but the fact is that they are entertaining- very very cheesy and good fun. They are not historically accurate and do not impart much historical information. Everybody tends to either love them or hate them. I got in for free to the Edinburgh Dungeon and loved it, but then paid for entry to one of the others and was left wondering how on earth they managed to get me to pay that amount of money.

Don't pay full price- should not be difficult to find discount vouchers.

there are always 2 for 1 or other discount vouchers around for the Dungeons-just Google it.
