Katima Mulilo to Windhoek via minibus?
We have extensive experience traveling around Africa using the minibus system. I thought we could just show up in Katima Mulilo and expect there to be minibuses headed to Windhoek. Someone told me they heard that there aren't minibuses there that head down to Windhoek, is that true? If so, are there any other options besides flying? I know there's an Intercape bus that makes the trip a couple days after we are looking to travel. Thanks for your help!1
There is one bus a day from Katima to Windhoek but I donot know what time. I stayed in Katima for one night. I hitched hike on the Caprivi strip between two borders. Most people hitch hike on the road. It is not difficult but you have to pay about the same price as the bus. You can negotiate for the price. You can hitch hike to Randu and try to hitch hike or bus to Windhoek.

We have tried to get from Divundu to Katima Mulilo by mini bus on a couple of different trips but were unable to find info on them and ended up hitching or taking the bus.No mini buses we learned the hard way one time, waiting for four hours before getting a ride, but the Intercape Mainliner bus coming from Livingstone to Katima Mulilo to Windhoek.is excellent modern.
Once you get to Divundu/Bagani there are mini buses to Rundu. You could overnight at our fav backpacker bush camp Ngepi Camp.
Then from Rundu private taxi to Groosfontein/Windhoek.

Police check point in Katima would probably be a good place to hitch hike from if you go for that option.
Hope you will post back what you find!
