Best beaches in Asia

For those considering "beach time" in Vietnam check out the Tripadvisor list of top 20 beaches in Asia:

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/TravelersChoice-Beaches-cDestinations-g2

Only one beach in VN is listed and then at only #18.

Mind you, Tripadvisor is not so reliable. There are better beaches than Cua Dai

there sure are better beaches than CuaDai inn vietnam

to put borocay at #1 is totally wacked, i guess water pollution does not enter into it...

there are so many incredible beaches in Pi, all better than borocay, but seeing as that is where the hotels are at ... same in thailand, same in vietnam

article should be called , best resort beaches in asia

It is not Tripadvisor that is 'not so reliable'

It is the type of people that use it and vote for the beaches.......

sure it is who votes,
but when asked about places on here or TA, so many folks have but the LP route destinations

and of course, most want places with full services, the spas, fancy bars ...

look at weather questions
or beach questions,
answers are usually so out of line ...

A lot of the beaches deserveably are from Thailand. Railey at #3 is well desrved, as in Ao Dang at #5.Con Dao is the best beach choice for Vietnam followed by Phu Quoc. Both are easily accessible from HCMC and you can be relaxing on the beach in round about an hour after leaving HCMC by plane. Those flights are cheap.
Beats wasting a valuable day travelling all around the countryside.

You're right Bam, recently there has been a lot of BS on TA forums and reviews. Ratings are unbelievably out of whack! You would only want to believe 50% of it!

Philipines has a zillion incredible beaches, most of them without anyone on them
Thailand has incredible beaches, yes, Aonang and raley are great beaches, but there are some way nicer just around the corner ...

on any of these boards,as far accuracy, i'd go for 10 to 15 % at most

I would definitely not rate Ao Nang and Rai ley in top 20 best beaches in Asia, yes they are nice but.... !!! and there are definitely some other beaches in Tailand,Phils and Indonesia that deserve to be in there...Pasir Panjang-Pulau kei moluccu is easily in top 5 in asia

LP's accuracy is improving a lot as they grub out the touting, self promoting and PM marketing. It still has a few friends of establishments doing fake raves & back scratching but LP grubs them out as they are reported. No doubt the ravers receive perks for their favours.
The standard of this forum has risen dramatically since LP weeded out a lot of rubbish and lies.
In the meantime TA gives travel forums a bad name with uncontrolled fake reviews and manipulative, co-ercive scamming towards certain establishments.

As far as Krabi area beaches go, I am a big fan having visited in low season. I guess in high season they aren't as good but the laid back atmosphere and tranquility is nice. It's also great to be on beaches that aren't surrounded by a concrete jungle. The Thai beaches are natural.

just around the corner from ao nang,
straight into the hat napparat tara national park headquarters and across the river, 7 kms of pristine beach, still only 5 or so small scale family resorts ,
totally awesome

in vietnam,
at the very tip of hon gom peninsula, on the open sea side, 3 incredible beaches, hard to get to , but well worth it, if one does not stop at the beginning of the peninsula, 15 kms untouched beach, no one about ...

the new road tru vung ro, bay and over the mountain pass to the seaside, the beach by the lighthouse, truly awesome but nothing there
