16I thank you for the great responses, they do help! And to comment for the post above me, im a college kid, going with college friends, of course drinking is a priority. Eurotrip party style i guess could be an underlying definition of why were going, but by no means do i need preaching on the subject, which is all i got on other forums. Simply ask for advice, not opinions of drinking.

There is no 'of course' about it, just to set the record straight. It's a stereotype, I'll grant that much. A lot of college kids can't be bothered.
It's better to do something because it is a personal choice, made from many options. Take the responsibility for it. Don't put the blame (or credit) on your demographic ..

20@Blandine, we don't know which state he's from so he might not be allowed to drink at home until he's 21, so I can understand that he wants to party and do so legally.
As others suggested stick to eastern Europe, skip Sweden, drinking in Sweden will run you broke in no time.
Be discrete when bringing in bottles of alcohol into your hotel and don't get completly wasted, that would be asking for trouble.
Have a great trip!!

During my own student days I probably lost the right to ever lecture others on their drinking behaviour, but let me just say that, generally speaking of course, the "preaching" you may be given on travel forums is more likely caused by the behaviour of foreign lager louts and "eurotrippers" that locals in the center of towns like Amsterdam have to endure every weekend, rather than by a feeling of moral superiority.
