Travel time around the ring road

How many hours total should it take to drive around the ring road? I'll be in Iceland for a few weeks this summer, but I would like to know the approximate time to drive around the ring road so I can start to plan my itinerary.

The ring road is about 1400 Km. So you could drive the ring in 17,5 hours if you can hold 80 kmh on average.

We planned our round trip (rental car) in 10 days, with about 100 km per day, up to 300 km per day. We are leaving in May, which means ample light. You will have the same advantage in the summer; many hours until sunset (if it does set at all, depending on your travel plans).
