Game drives in southern and central Namibia as day visitor
HiI'm travelling from South Africa to Namibia by car. This is the trip: Sprinbok - Fish River Canyon - Luderitz - Windhoek - Swakopmund - Sossusvlei - Keetmanshoop- south africa. We already booked b&b's and hotels.
But who can recommend exiting game drives (organised or with own 4x4 car) that can be done as a day visitor? Thanks!

Can you clarify what your expectations are regarding game drives? The south and central, while certainly being home to some game, is not really the game drive destination in Namibia.2
The only game parks (by which I mean national parks/reserves that people visit primarily to see game) are Etosha and various ones in Caprivi ie way up north. In southern/central Namibia you will see occasional animals alongside the road and also inside parks which are primarily visited for their scenery (eg Sossusvlei) but this would not be a game drive so much as spotting a few animals in a several hour drive en route to your next destination.
There will be private game farms (they often take guests) which may enable you to see antelope in greater numbers. There are also places that rehabilitate more exotic animals such as cheetahs (just google cheetah sanctuary namibia). If you are going anwhere near Rostock Ritz I know they have a meercat rehabilitation project.
If you really want to go on a game drive and see plains game, elephant, rhino and cats in the wild try and add Etosha into your itinerary.

Thank you both for the reaction! We visited etosha twice, but now we want to discover the southern part with two kids of eight and eleven.
I know there are no big game reserves in the south, but I ment private game parks. I found some around Windhoek, but are they worth a visit? We try to avoid a disappointment, so we're looking for good advice. Thank you!

Good idea from Markharf.Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is actually in SA (and Botswana) though it borders Namibia. You can access it from Namibia at Mata Mata though where there is a campsite or a nice (and reasonably priced) tented camp. It is indeed a fabulous park for game viewing. You do need a car with good clearance though and to be prepared for some badly corrugated roads. Check it out here.
