Hotel advice for Phuket

Hi everyone,
My parents are travelling to Phuket for one week, starting on March 20th. I'm trying to help them choose a hotel but the amount of resorts and hotels means its really hard to pick just one. I would really love some advice from anyone out there as I want them to have the best time possible. They would prefer a resort close enough to a town type setting, as some resorts look fairly isolated or in groups, and would mean taxis everywhere. Their budget would stretch to 4/5 stars as its a 60th birthday and once in a lifetime deal.
Thanks a mil for any help!

Hello....tap in AGODA THAILAND...then PHUKET...go thru the hotels..use the map....make your choice... if I were to go again there....KARON BEACH would be the only place I would stay...next to KATA....PHUKET TOWN AND PATONG...forget it....you will be struck out of their will!!! I hope they have a great time...simples!

Hotels at either Kata Beach or Karon Beach would be good choices where there would be lots of choice for restaurants, decent beach, and things to do within walking distance and lots of good hotel choices. As #1 suggested go to Agoda.com and look at either of those areas and narrow your list based on your price range and desired amenities. You should be able to get a very nice room (4+ star) for around $100US or less and probably a 5 star resort property for less than $150US
