Sardinia - car hire problems

Hello,

I want to book a car for my trip in Sardinia but every company I come across only accept drivers who've passed their test for a year or more. Unfortunately, at the time of travel it will be 11 months which is annoying. Please note I have a clean license and aged over 25 years. Does anybody know of a car hire company that will accept me? I am looking to hire one from Olbia airport for 14 nights.

Any help would be deeply appreciated...

Thanks!

PS a small car is enough for me. I'm not looking for anything fancy...just a little run round that will accept a responsible driver who has only had a license for 11 months.

I can see only three solutions for you as the rental and insurance companies would not change their rules just for you. 1) Try to rent a Vespa, 2) Use public transportation, 3) Go one month later.

Hello!

Yes I was thinking a vespa may be the best option. However, do the same rule apply hiring one?

Unfortunately, I cannot move the dates so will need to find an alternative if I can't hire a car.

Thank you,

One more idea, you can rent a car not needing a license in 4 places on the island http://www.aixam.com/fr/reseau/voiture-sans-permis-italie

Hiya, unfortunately I never heard back from them. I don't suppose you know of any good motorbike hires? Everything I have come across has been quite expensive.
