How much money do I need?
Hi allApologies if this is the 10000th time you've been asked this question but I need some help!
Am going to India for 10 days and staying in Goa and New Delhi on a bed and breakfast basis. Am just wondering how much money would be a good amount to live well but not have lots left over at the end?
Also what would be the best way of taking money? Am going to take my Barclaycard but what about travellers cheques?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give, it's much appreciated!
Thanks

The answer is how much money do you need. I used to go rock bottom (hope the BBC dead filters don't tag that). Thirty seven Rupes for a shared bed. But, I pig out on books. Now I am compelled by social pressure to live better. Its hard to judge unless we know more about you. How much grit and grunge can you stand? You can get someone's budget. But, it always reflects them. As a general rule I always felt better with a bit of surplus. One thing you can count on in India is inflation so past experiences don't predict future prices. As to mix of monies you'll find that a perpetual topic as its a matter of opinion. I always take a mix because I don't trust the reliability of any one means. Others swear by cards or work in a cash enterprise, etc..
