Stilt dance - best place to see...Benin? CI(Touba? Man 40km village?)?)From internet searches found the following
(a) Yoruba people do stilt dance Okparou .... but what town/village? and how often danced?
(b) Fon people do silt dance Zangbeto ... but what town/village? and how often danced?
2. Cote d'Ivoire
(a) Touba town/village is supposedly known for stilt dancing. how often done?
(b) Man (some unnamed village about 40km from Man) - fellow wrote about seeing a stilt dance and paid 30,000 CFA to get there (one-way??) and 20,000 CFA for dance to be performed ... ii. village was not named ii. paying a lot to get there and back, plus paying for the dance seems less natural than something that is performed daily or weekly and, as a traveler, happen upon a natural occurrence of some tradition vs requesting that people perform some show for you
Any recommendations for a location where stilt dances are performed as part of traditional 'daily' life?
Many thanks. It will help for route planning.

2at FESPACO, here in BF, just met persons working for Cote d'ivoire Ministry of Culture and Director of dance/choreography company who knows of various regional dances. Supposedly they will provide names of places to see some dances
FESCAPO good for meeting people who are not in-your-face trying to sell you something, people from other countries, people who will provide Letters of Invitation, etc, etc
