Xi'an bike friendly accommodation??i

Am landing in Xi"an, China April, want to stay 3 nights.

Is there a place someone has actually stayed at?

We want a place to put our bicycles together as we're starting our 60 day ride from XiAn. SOme of the hostels seem real small while some of the bigger ones may be wanting us to put the assembled bikes in an open parking lot.

most hotels (not your five-star variety) i've stayed at while in china
have all the guest rooms on the upper floors. the ground floor is
typically a huge empty space. bicycles and scooters and motorcycles
are usually parked inside at night. unless on the 4th or 5th floor, i'll
usually carry my bike up to my room.

I've found that inexpensive Chinese hotels tend to be better value and more spacious than those of hostels. Most are bicycle friendly, so you can assemble the bicycle in the comfort of your room.

i like the small ones too except that coming off the plane would be difficult to communicate with the driver what we really want.

There is a nice hostel near the South Gate of the old city. It has several (covert)courtyards where you have more then enough space for your bike. You're more than welcome with your bicycle there. I stayed there last year and did some repairs on my bike there, the staff was very helpful.

I cannot remember the name of the place but it's in the LP.

PS: We've cycled China for over three months and in almost every hotel it is no problem at all to park your bike inside.

Have a nice trip!
