catching a taxi in San Gerardo de Rivas by Cerro Chirripo
Do you know how easy it would be to get a taxi from San Gerardo de Rivas (to San Isidro de El General)? I've heard the reverse is possible, but since San Gerardo is so small, I'm wondering if taxis hang out there or if they could be pre-arranged somehow. I may be working on a tight timeline -- hoping to descend from Chirripo in the morning then catch a bus in San Isidro at 3:30ish to the coast.Thank you!

in most rural areas where taxis may not be waiting, if you can get to any kind of business or tienda or mini-mart, they will call a local taxi person for you. it will probably not be the red, licensed taxi that we all talk about -- but these are rare in rural areas where guys who do taxi service may have 2 or 3 other jobs. one of the taxi drivers where i live raises cows and another one drives the school buses.ADVERTISEMENT
