Places to stay in the Lashio area
(Please excuse if this is a redundant posting, this request shows up on the right hand side of the screen under "Recent threads" but for some reason it did not show up on the main topic list. I've contacted the moderator)I'm looking for the latest info regarding places to stay in Lashio. I'm told that there is a large difference between a Chinese-run hotel and several locally run guest houses. The person who shared that info, an experienced traveler in the area, told me that the Chinese hotel was charging $40/night, but that was last year, and prices are really fluid in Myanmar at this time.
If anyone has recent info to share, especially about new places that are allowed to have foreign travelers, I'd appreciate hearing from you. If you've stayed there recently and have a recommendation, thank you. However, I'm about to start a month-long retreat in the next day or two, so if I don't respond to your posts with a thank-you I'm not being impolite, I'm just being quiet on a cushion somewhere.
