Moving to Scotland Jan 2014

I'm finishing up my final semester of Tourism in the next four months then planning to work full time to save money for six months so that i can move to scotland in January 2014,
I was looking for tips and advice on what i need to do.

Where are some good areas? What is a reasonable amount for rent/pw?
And are there good Tourism job opportunities.

I am strongly leaning towards Glasgow as i have been there before as well as Edinburgh but i am still able to be swayed!

Will you have acquired all the correct paperwork to secure applying for a paid job in the uk?

Yeah, I'll apply for the visa closer to when I leave as it begins when it is issued so I don't want to be losing time on it here.

Make sure you qualify before spending money on expensive flights. Many people who believe they are entitled, get refused.

I would check that, when i did my year in Oz my visa gave me a 3 month window from date of issue. And only started when I entered the country, as far as i know this is the same as any visa they only start when you enter a country. Whether that is a specific date that you say you will arrive or one like mine.
