soft day treks and special things to do

We are travelling to Nepal late March and staying with friends for a week but then want to explore and walk (not trek over days but one o/n ok, because of bad back and asthma and in all honesty not as fit as we would like!) not high energy or altitude at the moment unfortunately. But really really want to get to places to enjoy the mountains, culture and just absorb. Staying in Bandipur to start but second week + open end of March/April. Would really appreciate knowledge of good places to explore and relax and walk with not too much trek. Are there festivals around 27th March or after? and interesting places to be and stay that people can recomend post trek?.

Lots of options, but if you are going to anyway be in Bandipur, you could consider something like:
Fly to Jomson.
Short on time? Walk to Marpha - perhaps a bit beyond - take buses when you run out of time.
A little longer? Stay at Jomson one night, walk up to Kegbeni (one of my favorite towns on the APC trek and the gateway to Mustang), next day walk to Marpha, then head down.

Thankyou both. Given that we can move around Nepal and now have managed to gain a third week where would it be best to enjoy Holi celebrations and where else would it be good to go and stay for 3-4 days with just walking in mind? Around Pokhara ?

One really good day trek I did in the Kathmandu Valley was Nagarkot to Changu Narayan. It was mainly downhill, had pretty views and we passed through some nice little villages. We ended our trek at the Changu Narayan temples but could have easily continued on to Bhaktapur. We hired a guide from a small trekking agency in Nagarkot. We could have done it without a guide but actually found him to be very good. From changu Narayan, we got a bus straight back to Kathmandu.
