Hotel in Dallas for 3 nights

Hi,

I'm travelling from Denver to Dallas on Friday to see a concert on Friday night and staying until Monday and am looking for a reasonably cheap hotel to stay at in a good location. I don't want to spend too much money but am willing to pay some. I have noticed that all of the cheaper ones have got some terrible reviews and are located way out of the city. Any info would be great

I'd suggest Fort Worth. Its just as far as Dallas from dfw. And a funkier Texas feel.

rather than a dangerous matropolis.

What is "reasonably cheap," in numbers?

Are you willing/able to rent a car?

Where's your concert and what's your price range?

Hi,

The concert is at American Airlines Center. I was also hoping to have a look at some museums and stuff aswell. I am 21 so could rent a car but it would be expensive.

Oh and in terms of numbers probably not more than $300 for the 3 nights max

The cheapest options are 1 mile away from AA Arena and have good reviews on TripAdvisor:

Best Western Market Street - $81 per night including taxes
Fairfield Inn & Suites Medical/Market Center - $91 per night including taxes

To add, the walk to the AA Arena would be around 25 mins. The Historic District is another 20 min walk past the AA Arena, or a 45 mins walk from the hotel. You can also take buses.

The TRE (right name?) inner urban train goes right by there.

If there's lots of people waiting for it, you'll be safe.

As I told my friends on lower Greenville Ave. bar strip,
"Any taxi ride is cheaper than a visit to a probation officer."

There are a number of hotels in the Market Center district just north of downton that are less than $100/night. This area is close to the AA Center. The TRE won't help you for your concert (doesn't run at night), but the DART Light Rail passes nearby and cab fare should not be prohibitive. In addition to the hotels mentioned in #7, there's a Courtyard by Marriott. Focus on this area and check the reviews on TripAdvisor.

Correction: looks like the TRE runs extra trains during special events. Check here: http://www.trinityrailwayexpress.org/aacenter.html

Courtyard by Marriott is more expensive than his budget for the dates he provided. I mentioned the two places that fit the budget. :)

Hi - I am staying 4 nights in Dallas later this week. (Easter break). I will be on my own ( female 50's) so would like a safe area that i can get to tourist sites and attractions from easily. Do you think the area you sugggested here would be suitable for me? Annie

no. Seek an internet hotel special. Stay near (google earth) where you'll be most.

Nightlife is out on "lower" Greenville Ave.

use street sense in Dallas.

City bus costs about $1.50. but spooky.

Fort Worth is more Texan. Neat place.
