Some suggestions: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/p/m/1dfd29/4
- The Science museum Nemo is apparently great for children: http://www.e-nemo.nl/en/?id=1
- A canal boat tour
- Madame Tussaud's maybe, if they're not too small
- Dinner at a Dutch Pannenkoekenhuis (pancake house)

But I just read you will be in Belgium @ end of Feb. How is that possible?6
- lets_think, please think (;-), end of February is about 9 days in the Lowlands!

I'm not sure where you got this information and I don't know about taking kids into a coffeeshop (seems like a bad idea anyway), but you are allowed to bring kids into a bar, even if they serve alcohol. Maybe some places won't let in minors, but that's their 'door policy' and not the kind of places you would want to go with kids anyway (i.e. clubs). Regular café's and bars will alow kids - no problem.9
#3,#7 Yes, they are, even if they are children (....) under 18 (in the Netherlands children are always under 18;-)Don't know about coffeeshops, we don't have them here (in the rural)

But still: what's the age of Jason's kids (#1), the end of February starts tomorrow.Be aware, pretty busy in the venues, there's a socalled crocus-school holiday till Sunday incl.
Nemo will be overrun due to museum year card holders.

Yes, what age?? (It would be polite to at least let us know that you read our remarks...)- Tropenmuseum museum of anthropology / cultures comes to mind.
- NEMO science museum is nicer from 7 years old and onwards; it's a bit too difficult for 'normal' 5 year olds.
- TunFun underground mega playground.
- A cinema, for example a 3D movie.
