When I see the crowd I have gathered to support me, I think I need to change my opinion about Yoani. To her benefit I would like to say that I admire her for her serene language, and her intellectual approach to the matters she writes about. I can understand that is boring to some.

The way to an international career may often go accompanied with a lot of jealousy and barking at home

She doesn't appear to have any friends here. It sounds like one of those acts of repudiation. Amazing coming from people living with the advantages most Cubans do not have.

Even more amazing is to claim an act of repudiation just because someone doesn't like her writing style. Just because someone has issues with the Cuban government doesn't automatically make them special or worthy of esteem.

And who has or doesn't have "advantages" is immaterial to the discussion.

Cheers,
Terry

#17 Which isn't a big surprise when you been here long enough to know where they stand on cuban politics. I think the user bahaman used to call most of the users here for "card carrying fidelistas" :p

Yet another completely unfounded accusation, Travis.

#17 & #19.

As much as I believe the Cuban Revolucion has done alot of good in many ways, I also believe that they are a borderline idiotic authority with many unnecessary rules for the Cuban population to live under.

On the other hand, that does not make me a fan of Miami-style politics, Sanchez's writing or the Cuban & American scum who ruled the island before '59.

Wouldn’t this be a better world if we could leave politics and religion at home when we travel the seven seas with our fellow travelers?
