Three and a half weeks in July-August...how much to take?
Hello allI've booked a return flight to Bangkok in the Summer.
I'm looking to go to Koh Tao, Chiang Mai, Koh Samet and a few other places. I've been before so I know how to get around etc. What i'm really lookinf for is a rough estimate of how much to take for one person. I won't be slumming it, but want to do it to a reasonable budget.
If anyone has any average prices etc for me - transport, taxis, food, hotels etc, I'd be v grateful.
Cheers

Since this is not your first time in Thailand - how much did you spend last time?Unless you were in Thailand 10 years ago your budget, except for your flight over and back, might be a good place to start at.
Put to paper how much per day you can afford to spend for your hotel room and meals. Then try to stick to that plan.
We don't know if you only routinely choose expensive hotels to stay at and ritzy restaurants for meals. Or maybe eat cheap food from street vendors and food courts while staying in cheap flop houses.
Maybe have the same amount of money you would have back in your own country in a big city far from home.
You can use debit cards for cash from Thai ATM's if what you bring runs out. Any extra cash or travelers checks you don't use because you brought too much can still be used later at home.
Good luck.

Oh yeah, if your previous trip to Thailand was November through February you will find July - August cheaper.Weather:
