Bolivia: Ybarra Paintings
Hello! I lived in Bolivia in 2002 and purchased some really cool paintings by Ybarra. I don't remember if his first name was Freddie, but for some reason that name rings a bell. Anyhow, they are really amazing paintings done on canvas and they are almost abstract...they include lots of scenes of bowler hats and bulls...but I know he did a lot of other stuff too. Does anyone know of the artists confirmed full name? Is he still painting? Are you aware of a gallery that I could contact to possibly buy some more? Thanks in advance!!!1
i think ive talked to this artist before. but where did you buy these paintings? i met a man named freddie in la paz whose art was a lot like youve described. he has a decent little gallery close to san fransisco chruch. he also had painting of cities, some abstract. dont know if this helps though because i dont remember his last name.2

It could have been close to the san fransisco church, but as I recall at that time it wasn't his gallery that I purchased it from...it was an art exhibition somewhere (but exactly where escapes me). Wish I could post photos of the pictures as they are really gorgeous! I would love to purchase more!
