Malaysian weather in November/December

We are planning to go to Malaysia at the end of November/early December. We plan to fly into KL and over 2 weeks make our way up to Langkawi for a short beach holiday to finish off our trip. We are not 100% sure about the weather during this time and are not sure if the rain will be a problem, and if the weather will be really overcast? We know the rainy season is in November, but will this mean Langkawi will be sunny enough for a proper beach holiday by early December??

thanks for your help!!

Any ideas on places we should visit are also welcome!

Hi, november and december is monsoon season here, so you might expect a wet and rainy weather over the east coast penisular. but if you wish, Sabah is quite good too for a beach trip since it has quite a few islands over there. still you might consider to visit here in april or such if you want a very good beach holiday. :)

Wrong.... November is the start of the dry season on the west coast, where Langkawi is located. So the OP should find good weather on Langkawi.

Unusually wet in Penang on the west coast for the past few days and right up to today.
For the past two decades the weather is normally hot and dry during this period.
Some say that it is due to the onset of the "Year of the Water Snake" in the Chinese lunar calendar 2013.

if you want a global idea, you can check sunpreview.com . it's a world global forecast calendar. it's not very detailed but, for me, I've never had a surprise of huge rain or anything else.

The outskirts of Kuala Lumpur around and Puchong in Selangor was flooded yesterday afternoon/evening and some cars were seen floating down the street.
