Pay phones in Spain
Will shortly be in Spain. We will need to call my wife's 90 year old mother in UK - she is pretty deaf and cannot really hear calls from mobiles. We thought using a payphone may be better. What is the cheapest way to make an international call from a payphone in Spain - prepaid card bought in Spain,prepaid card bought in UK, coins or credit card ? Or is there another way I haven't thought of?1
Just call from your hotel it will be not that expensive it is not like the charges you get for using your phone in a uk hotel. Call boxes are dying out all over Europe. And too be honest not sure they that much clearer than a mobile phone.3
There are pay phone around and some still take coins. I remember seeing them in Atocha but they are disappearing. As I mentioned on an earlier post there are " locutorios" pop pino up all over to allow immigrants to call home. They aren't always he most pleasant places but in smaller towns they might be more numerous than pay phones.
