Depends where you are going and what you are doing (i.e. trekking) in Nepal.It certainly would be a good idea to some research yourself, get a guide book...

No, it doesn't quite work how you think.You're advised to read the stickies at the top of the thread. Especially note this bit of advice:

That's true but there are only a few posts about Nepal in the FAQ thread and I don;t think they would answer the OP's questions coherently. The info on the destination tab is more useful.CIWEC has good health information but maybe not good enough to base a decison on - check with a doctor.
immi.gov.bp has all of the visa information but not presented very wll. The first decision to make is whether to get a visa in advance or on arrival..
Answers about permits depend on what you want to to do; perhaps read through the information on the destination tabs above which might help to focus your questions. A guidebook is also very useful and worth investing in - it will assist in planning the trip and be a source of further information when you are in Nepal.
