La Paz: Does Museo Tanga Tanga Still Exist?

Does anyone who lives in La Paz or has traveled there recently knows if the Museo Tanga Tanga still exists?
We were volunteers in 2002 who built this children's museum and I was curious if it is still in operation...

Thanks!

The children“s museum in La Paz was called "Kusillo" ("Tanga Tanga" is/ was? in Sucre).
The private foundation which started both has closed, but I think the La Paz Municipality has reopened Kusillo under another name.

The land that Kusillo was on was donated to the local authorities by the Quipus Foundation owned by Peter McFarren (who is now living in the states I believe). Im unsure if it has reopened yet but I did recently (a few weeks ago) remember seeing some activity on the site with workmen there so something is defiantly being done if not already completed.

Oh yes, you're right. My memory failed me.. afterall it has been 11 years! Yikes!!! Yes,.this was indeed in Sucre!!!! Thanks for the clarification. Interesting to hear about McFarren leaving Bolivia. When did that happen???

What are they doing there now? ie: is it still a children's museum??

Thanks, guys!

The ex Kusillo is indeed now run by the La Paz City Hall and has been opened as a cultural centre (mainly for children) for some time now, though I'm not sure they've finished the project entirely. They do quite a lot with school / college groups and I think the public can visit as well (they have family days at weekends), though I'm not sure of opening hours. The basement has been turned into a museum about Bolivian literature and writers, which would be worth a visit for anyone specifically interested in that.

Seems it's now called Pipiripi.
McFarren left several years back, I think for a job with the Inter-American Bank in Washington

Thanks, guys, for the update. Does this also mean that Fundacion Quipus has also been disbanded with the exit of mcfarren?
