ESL jobs in Medellin

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to take an extended trip to Medellin in a few months. Maybe staying 6 months or so. Of course money is a consideration and I was wondering how easy or hard it would be for a native English speaker to find a job teaching English in the city. Unfortunately I don't have past experience teaching which may be an obstacle. If anyone has any insight into this process and perhaps even if the pay rate would be enough to make monthly rent payments, assuming that a. I work enough hours and b. don't live in a luxurious apartment.

Thanks! Hoping I can make this happen.

Jacob

Also, I will probably need TESOL certification. If anyone knows of a reputable, affordable program I could start my training in, I would be very appreciative.

HI Jacob,
I know EAFIT university has an ESL teaching program that places teachers in local schools, it's long hours but I think you earn enough to live.
I highly recommend Casa Lupe for a place to stay, she has rooms with private bathroom and includes meals and laundry. Based in Poblado. Good luck!
