Currency

Hi,

I am planning a three month trip to Brazil including language schools. This is going to be quite an expensive trip and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations on how to get the best currency exchange. I was thinking of getting a currency card although it seems to be hard to find one for Brazil because most of them seem to be either for Euros or Dollars.

Thanks for all your help and I hope you enjoy/have enjoyed your travels to the country

Take a card to use at the ATM to withdraw cash in reais, and a credit card to pay for most purchases. There are casas do cambio in most cities to exchange USD/Euro cash for reais, with reasonable rates.

In full agreement with the last poster.....These days it is almost always the best way to deal with money in a foreign country...the exchange rates are as good as you will get anywhere and the convenience of the cash machines means that you do not need to carry large amounts of cash....homesteader
