Driving Central America
Hello! How viable is it to drive from U.S. to Panama? is it safe? How hard is it to cross the borders with no problem? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.1
You need the cars original title, it needs to be in your name, you need to do a ton paperwork at each border, car goes in your passport each country, cant leave without the car, can take 1 hour to 4 hours, best to cross borders by noon, dont drive at night, need to park in secure area/dont leave anything in car unattended, gas cost more, big cities are congested and best avoided.Everything else, is right here,

It is very easy if you have patience and it is as safe as anything else. CR and MEX do not stamp the car into your passport so you can leave if need be. As per above, title in your name and drivers license, don't drive at night and secure parking always. It is an adventure your first time but by your 10th it is just routine.
