Mt. Shuttle near Sydney?
Hi,I'm trying to piece together the location of an outdoor skills camp I did as part of a summer exchange program back in 1989. I only have a few specifics, and I'm hoping someone with a lot of local knowledge may be able to help.
Here's what I know:
We took a ferry from Sydney to wherever we were going...
We bushwacked to the top of Mt. Shuttle (not sure if that's the correct spelling)
We stayed for a couple of days at "Knox", which had a mess hall for dining and modest bunk houses. This was on a river.
We did a lot of canoeing on a river.
There may have been a lake called Soagre or Soagie?
From Knox, we did a 10 day expedition in and around the area with a mix of canoeing, hiking, abseiling, ropes courses
Anyone know where I was? I don't imagine we were too far from Sydney.
Thanks for the help!

Interesting - none of those names ring a bell with me, but if you took a ferry all the way from Sydney (you didn't go somewhere by train first?) I'm guessing it has to be somewhere on the Hawkesbury River or its tributaries. 'Knox' suggests Knox Grammar School, and their website shows students canoeing on the Hawkesbury, so maybe it was a camp site owned by the school?
