12 days in Colombia

Looking to go to Colombia for the first time in August coming in from Sydney.

I was born there, but have lived in Australia since the age of 5 weeks.

Keen to visit Bogota, but really open to suggestions.

Not really the party goer as such, but like quiet drinks, and.keen to check out the Carribean coast resorts.

Looking to stay in hotels, 3/4 star, but open to suggestions on local acommodation if anyone has some good ideas.

Keen to hear from peoples experiences, on how to get around, places to stay and things to see :) Looking to go to Colombia for the first time in August coming in from Sydney.

everything is up to you...how old are you??I personally don´t like 3-4 star hotels bcause I don´t have the chance to know people....but this is something personal...
in colombia everywhere u can find whatever...so if u are looking for quiet drinks etc...for example in bogota´you can go close to zona G...where actually u can find party as well.....
enjoy your experience in colombia....

32 years old mate.

As said I am open to other suggestions on places to stay. Definitely know where you are coming from.

Any suggestions there?

I would definitely stay in a hostel around the calle 70 so that u are close to "zona rosa" where all the nightlife, restaurants etc...are....and zona G which is more a restaurant part.....and u are perfectly in a part with polenty of bars to take a drink!!I personally recomend a neighborhood called "quinta camacho" is part of chapinero in the north part around the calle 68-69-70...it´s very old and full of old victorian houses now turned into nice restaurants and bar....
I was told that some hostel was growing in this part of the city, I personally hope because I would stay there and till nopw I use to stay in friend´s houses in this neighborhood....
if u need something ask me...maybe in august i ll be in bogota and we ll meet

Cheers mate..

Thinking about going to Cartegena or Medellin as well.

Well both in fact.

At this stage possible 4 days in Bogota, 4 in Cartegena and the same in Medellin.
