Ayampe Hostels in March

Is it advised to book this ahead of time for a 3 night stay over a weekend in March?? I am not a fan of making reservations and putting money down---I would prefer to just show up and pay when I get there but am afraid I'll be roomless if March is a busy month for this little town. Does anyone have experience with hostels in Ayampe in March?? Busy or no? Thanks

Hi! You should be fine going to Ayampe without reservations as there are plenty of hostels in this little village, the only time that its really full is when there is a surf competition or national holiday. In the highly unlikely event of Ayampe being fully booked when you arrive, you will find rooms in the small neighbouring village of Las Tunas (5 minutes busride north of Ayampe, along the same beach, 3 beachfront hostels one of them community run and some 4 hosterĂas offering B&B but at a higher price) or in Puerto Lopez (lots and LOTS of hostels, but a lot bigger and not at all as laid back as the other two, about 20 min north of Ayampe by bus). Good luck and have fun! =)
