Yosemite - Best place to stay

Hi, I'm in the process of planning my honeymoon for this October, for part of our trip we'd like to spend 2 nights in Yosemite, I'm just after a bit of advice on the best place to stay. Ideally we'd love to stay actually in Yosemite but I think the hotels are more than we'd like to pay so I'm wondering what the next best place would be outside of Yosemite. We'll be hiring a car so will be able to drive but wouldn't really want to have to drive for more than an hour or so. Our budget is between £50-£90 per night. Thanks.

Our budget is between £50-£90 per night.
That's roughly $78-140.
You can afford a heated tent cabin in Curry Village. In fact, they have a special where you pay a rate equal to the previous night's low, plus $20 for the heat. If the low was, say, 40, you pay $60 for that night. If the temps drop below zero, you pay $20.

Otherwise, try the Yosemite Bug.

That's so sad that you cannot cut back a little on your pub tab between now and October in order to afford a great room in one of the most glorious valleys on the planet for your honeymoon.

I think Curry Village will be the one for us, thanks for the useful reply.

Montereyjack - thanks for the comment, if only it were as simple as that, I don't like that you assume our budget is due to a 'pub tab', you know nothing about our circumstances. I'm sure we can have just as good an experience by camping and then being able to do other things whilst on our honeymoon.

Apologize for my flippant generalization. Have a nice honeymoon.
The showers and toilet building you walk to from your tent have improved.
The location, though crowded, is unmatched.

I would book as soon as you have your itinerary nailed down.
That rate may or may not disappear.
