buses in lombok-from kuta to kayangan and from kayangan to senaruhi everybody, this is my first post on thorn tree forum:)
i'm planning a trip to bali and lombok
after getting to lombok by plane we want to sleep in kuta and then go to kayangan to catch a ferry to sumbawa- is there any public bus on this route? if so, is there any web page where i can find some info? i couldn't find it by myself...
then, after getting back to kayangan we want to go senaru to climb mt rinjani- again, is there any bus? or how much would a private car cost? our budget is quite limited
i would be very grateful for any help:)

1There is no direct connection from Kuta to Kayangan. IMO the most convenient way to get there would be to go the Mataram and take a bus from there to Sumbawa Besar which also includes the ferry trip of course. There are other routes on local bemos but you would have to change bemos many times so impractical and time-consuming. From memory Mataram - Sumbawa Besar is IDR 110,000 or so and will take about 6-7 hours depending on waiting time at Kayangan. Kayangan to Senaru - no direct bus. You will have to change.

2Don't know whether this can help; maybe there will be some travel help in within some of the adverts:
This guide is fortnightly and gives some good info.

5hey guys! thanks a lot for your replies. so i guess we'll go to kayangan from mataram with this bus you wrote, definitely more convenient. but we have to get to mataram from kuta, i hope there is some bus?
so Merantau you're saying there are buses kayangan-senaru but we have to change. all this travel to sumbawa seems complicated- we only want to go there to go to kenawa island, is it worth it? have you been there maybe? there's not much info on the internet.. maybe it's better to go to gili islands? in that part of lombok transportation is certainly much easier but i've read gilis are pretty touristic. can you advice me something? i'll just add that we're going in the end of may so it's not peak season

8hey! thank you for writing in my post and sorry i didn't write for so long- i thought LP would send me some kind of notice to my email address but they didn't... anyway thank you for all the information:)
Rido2013 thanks for your offer, it seems a bit expensive i have to think about it but if i want to go with you i'll write you a message.
Merantau your website is very useful, especially that there's not that much info on the internet about sumbawa. i need some more time to read it:) i really would love to go there but now i'm not sure if we have enough time... 2 weeks only.. stupid job, i wish i had more holidays;p so i think i'll have to give up something from my itinerary. i want to see bali (not south but rather north part), gili islands, climb mount rinjani, go to kuta lombok, and to kenawa island... too much right?
