TET messed up travel time
I was aware of TET from the beginning of my journey and still messed up . !Arrived in Dalat on the 4th and LOVED it! Its cool and green and quiet . However I am now in my second week and about done with its loveliness and really want to move on .
The plan is is go to HCMC and stay for only a couple of days as I don't like big cities . The only things I want to see are the museums .
I then want to head to Phu Quoc .
My concerns are
Will the Museums be open 12th 13th ( conflicting answers on recent posts )
Will the cheap accommodation in the backpacker areas be available ( I am OK paying $20. )
Will the buses to Phu Quoc run on 14th or 15th and will the accommodation still be at high prices then ?
I would hole up here but its been 8 days already and I am tired of chilling .
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about museums, but accommodations shouldn't be an issue in Saigon. Locals leave Saigon for Hanoi and their home villages, so the city is less crowded than usual, plenty of rooms in your price range. There will be buses to the Delta/Phu Quoc, but you may have to pay extra ( I paid $8 for a ticket that usually is $4-$5) just ask at the travel places on DeTham.
Accommodation prices on Phu Quoc may be up, maybe really UP check some of the booking sites, like http://www.hotels-in-vietnam.com or Agoda.com. The locals often head for the beach, or other resort areas after visiting the folks.
