European gasburner in US
Hi,Does anybody know if its the same thread on US gascanisters as european? I was hoping to bring my beloved gasoperated Trangia http://www.trangia.se/english/2917.trangia_accessories.html
Best Regards

The link you provided shows that the stove attaches to canisters, so I assume the threads in question are those on the canisters that mate it to the stove burner.I don't know if fuel canisters sold in the U.S. would match the threads to your stove (also the diameter of the canister throat may be different). I'd contact REI with your question http://www.rei.com/?gclid=CNXHr_31q7UCFQThQgod1QgADA&s_kwcid=TC|13030|rei||S|e|17330702653&ef_id=URWEEgAABHm0-z5R:20130210141150:s

Your stove intrqued me so found this; http://www.trangia.se/english/12134.distributors.htmlThis site lists a U.S. distributor for Trangia stoves in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also, Trangia equipment (including canisters) are available on Amazon.com, but you'd have to have it shipped somewhere.
Antoher option is ti simply bring it with you and see if canisters available in teh U.S. work and if not, buy an inexpensive screw-on burner type to use here like this for example http://www.rei.com/product/660163/msr-pocket-rocket-backpacking-stove?preferredSku=6601630012&cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-pla-_-product-_-6601630012&mr:referralID=c9562831-7394-11e2-97b3-001b2166becc

OK, looks like you can use pretty much any type of fuel for this stove, white gas, petrol etc. Just bring your own canisters, of course cleaned out with no fuel smell. Really hard to tell if the threads are compatible with MSR, Primus bottles. I would think so. www.rei.com Check at REI for yourself.ADVERTISEMENT
