A lot of that like walking across the Golden Gate Bridge are sort of optional activities. You don't need to walk it to see it. But a lot of this is subjective. If I were to list all the major sites to see in LA, we'd need to recommend at least 5 full days there as well. But we don't. And in NYC, I'd include Brooklyn and Queens, so that would be 10 days.17
You can do that, but definitely don't go to LA for "the beach". There are beach towns, but it's more about the lifestyle and neighborhoods than the beach itself, i.e. they don't have any type of a resort feel, just a city feel. However, I think you might as well spend all 10 days on the east coast since the major cities are so close to each other and easy to get to by public transit. Philly is 2 hours away, and Boston and Washington DC are both 4 hours away (in opposite directions) form NYC. Boltbus is cheap to get between all of these.
I would spend 6 nights in NYC itself. Then you can do 2 nights in Philly and 2 nights in DC for example.
If you do fly to SF, spend 3 days there and the rest of the time checking out nearby places like Monterey, Carmel, Napa Valley, Big Sur, etc. Depends on your interests.

I think San Francisco is better then NY. San Francisco is a place where lots of person came for spend their vacations. It is an exotic destination of United states.ADVERTISEMENT
