Private Arabic Study in Jordan?

Hey all!

I'm a college student looking to put my three years of MSA to some use and hopefully pick up some Levantine on the way. I have a friend that found a great tutor in Cairo through an expat listserv.

Is there anything similar in Amman? Also, what is the going rate for a private Arabic tutor?

Best,

J.F.

Jean welcome to TT forum and welcome to Jordan.
I am starting an academy to teach the Arabic language to non Arab so I have a fair idea about this subject.
.I ran a similar service in Damascus Syria before the onset of the revolution..at that time tutor fees ranging widely 300-1500 syp a session of 2 hours dollars 5-15 .
Here in Amman I guess can can be higer due to higher cost of living.Speaking to some tutors I gathered prices range 10-15 jod a session.
I you wish I can link you with some of these tutors.
cheers

That'd be great, thanks! I'm really just in the preliminary stages of my search, so that'd be really helpful.
