Island life in South America
So I am trying to put together some ideas to give my upcoming 3 month adventure (and indeed my first travelling experience) bit of structure and thus far haven't really got much further than flying to buenos aires and flying back from bogota doing Bolivia and Peru en route....My concern that I am hoping to put to rest is that the stops along this route are all a bit 'serious' for want of a better description, and littered with natural beauties and historic cities etc. which is all well and good but I would love to have a balance with spending time partying in sunny climate and lazing around on beaches away from the hectic ness of cities as ultimately as a 23 yr old male meeting new people and having a laugh is high on the agenda. Is this possible in the aforementioned countries in march / April / may ? Unless anyone can correct me I am getting the impression that if I want to recreate a Thailand ish vibe in SAM I may need to venture to dodgy countries in Central America to get the sun and island life I am partially looking for .
Thanks!

You are definitely going to struggle in Bolivia! Not many coastal beaches there! You are on the wrong side of the continent, Peru's beaches aren't up to much, I guess Mancora is the closest to what you are looking for.
There are much better beaches in Brazil, Uruguay and the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

Although Central America is perhaps not as dangerous as you may think.
Also, IMO, 3 months is far too rushed for an enjoyable trip between Bogota and Buenos Aires.

What dodgy countries in Central America are you referring to? Certainly someone has fed you misleading and false information my friend.5
Is the OP a parody?
Maybe not. He's spent some time in Thailand - typical for his age - and that has shaped his imagination of what it's like, if it's not like home.
